Drug-Free Workplace Policy
You need to present your employees with a written document that states in no uncertain terms that company policy is to employ a workforce that is drug-free. Further, employees who violate this policy should first be offered professional assistance, then disciplined, or their employment terminated.

Drug Testing
To strengthen the drug-free workplace message, you can implement drug-testing measures. Job applicant drug testing makes a strong company statement. Further explanation on the types of drug testing is located in the sample policy.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
A drug-free workplace policy should not only prevent substance abuse, but offer help to those who need it. An EAP allows you to provide employees (and their families) who use drugs or abuse alcohol access to professional help and counseling to overcome their problem. An important part of an EAP is education and training for the workforce, organized labor representatives, and the supervisory staff. You can arrange this from EAP providers as a separate component.

Supervisory Training
Supervisors are in the best position to observe changes in employee behavior, attitude or performance. In DFW Supervisory Training classes, your supervisors will acquire additional skills in recognizing drug and alcohol abusing behaviors, communications, employee evaluations and absentee modeling.

Employee Education

In the Drug-Free Workplace program it is important to inform all your employees and their families about your company's initiatives to provide a drug and alcohol-free workplace environment. Six times a year employees will receive educational information from our EAP provider on how best to provide a drug-free environment within their homes.
